We will not succumb to the pressures but we need to stay aware. Secret police stops people on the streets of Warsaw.

Last week we got an information about casually dressed officer who was standing and watching around Marszałkowska and Hoża streets in Warsaw. We know that he stopped at least one person and directly asked for some information about three arrested anarchists. The next day police called a roommate of this person and asked not only about the arrested 3 but also about contacts of this person with Warsaw squats. We will not succumb to the pressures of the authorities and poor provocation but we need to stay aware.

Below you will find important information on how to react when police tries to contact you:

• Every officer has to give you his/her name, surname and range, and you have right to write it down. Do it, it’s very important!
• Don’t let them provoke you and don’t talk with them. Cut the conversation and take only officers’ data.
• If police tries to contact you – spread the information. The more we know about their activities, the safer we are. You can contact us using email: wawa3 [at] riseup [dot] net

On the night of May 23^rd, the police in Warsaw arrested three anarchists on charges of an alleged arson attempt of a police vehicle. The three were transferred to a remand prison where they are to be held in custody for three months, awaiting trial. They face up to 8 years in prison.

Three anarchists were arrested by police in Warsaw, Poland, 23rd may 2016. The accusations are: possession of explosives and intending to use them by setting police car on fire. They are called terrorists by police and media, despite the fact, that the arson didn’t actually take place. These accusations are quite serious- they face from 6 months to 8 years of jail. First hearings of the accused took place at District Prosecutor’s Office on 24th may. Marks of tortures were visible on their bodies. On 25th may, during prosecution session at district court, prosecution decided to hold them in custody for three months (that might be automatically prolonged). Since then, each of the three is detained in isolation, denied the right to communicate with relatives, during the first week of detention none of them had access to a lawyer.
